35V and TPA Group Selected to Redevelop Former Six Flags America Site in Largo, Maryland
LARGO, Md. — A joint venture between 35V and Atlanta-based TPA Group has been selected by Six Flags Entertainment Corporation (NYSE: FUN) as the buyer and future steward of the 515-acre former Six Flags America site in Largo, Maryland, Prince George's County announced Friday.
The selection marks one of the most consequential land-use decisions in the county's recent history, with officials framing the site as a potential hub for entertainment, sports, technology, retail, and dining. No financial terms for the transaction were disclosed.
Public Engagement Kicks Off as Planning Begins
Prince George's County Executive Aisha N. Braveboy is scheduled to host a town hall on Thursday, June 25, 2026, at 7:00 PM alongside G.S. Proctor & Associates and the 35V development team. The event will take place at the Wayne K. Curry Building's County Council Hearing Room, located at 1301 McCormick Drive in Largo, and will also be live-streamed.
The county is simultaneously conducting a community survey to gather resident input on preferred uses for the site, including activities, experiences, and economic priorities.
"There is no limit to the way we can reimagine this land — retail, dining, business, and world-class experiences, all here in Prince George's County," County Executive Braveboy said in the announcement. "We honor the memories Six Flags gave our community, but this is our moment to think bigger. We have 515 acres and the vision to maximize every inch of it — creating jobs, attracting investment, and building something our residents will be proud of for generations to come."
Scale and Location Underscore Redevelopment Significance
At 515 acres, the former Six Flags America site represents a significant redevelopment opportunity in Prince George's County. The county has described the project as a transformational opportunity to position Prince George's County as a premier East Coast destination for innovation, entertainment, sports, and technology.
35V is an investment firm co-founded by Prince George's County native and professional basketball player Kevin Durant and Rich Kleiman, according to the county's press release. TPA Group is based in Atlanta. Together, the two firms form the joint venture that Six Flags Entertainment Corporation has designated as the site's buyer and future steward.
The involvement of a locally connected principal adds a community dimension to the deal that county officials have highlighted in their public communications. The press release notes that Durant is a native of Prince George's County.
Next Steps and What to Watch
The eventual program for the site has not been defined. The county's announcement references retail, dining, business, and world-class experiences as potential uses, but no specific land use program has been disclosed.
Residents who cannot attend the June 25 town hall in person can participate via the live stream at CEX.MYPGC.US/LIVE or complete the community survey online. The county has indicated that survey responses will inform the project's next steps.
Representatives from 35V, TPA Group, and G.S. Proctor & Associates are expected to participate in the town hall alongside County Executive Braveboy.
