AEW Europe Forward-Funds 22,000 Sqm Logistics Platform in Cavaillon, France
PARIS — AEW Europe announced it has agreed to forward-fund the development of a 22,000-square-meter Grade A logistics platform in Cavaillon, France, from Faubourg Promotion, part of the IDEC Group.
Forward-Funded Development in Southern France
The platform will comprise approximately 21,700 square meters of warehouse and distribution space and 1,200 square meters of offices and laboratories. It will also include a 2,000-square-meter cold storage area designed to maintain temperatures between 2°C and 8°C. The development is expected to be completed in September 2026.
The asset has been fully pre-let to Aroma-Zone, a French company specializing in organic cosmetics, under a 10-year lease. AEW Europe stated that the forward-funding structure provides long-term, index-linked income from an institutional-grade occupier.
Sustainability and Technical Standards
The Cavaillon platform is designed to meet high environmental and technical standards, targeting BREEAM Excellent and BiodiverCity certifications. It will incorporate heat pumps and photovoltaic panels, with a portion dedicated to self-consumption.
Strategic Location
Located along the A7 corridor near Grand Avignon Metropole, the site is positioned within a national logistics hub at the crossroads of the Rhône Valley and Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur. AEW Europe Executive Director for Investments France Alexandre Petitpré said the project aligns with the firm’s strategy to secure long-term income from high-quality logistics assets in established French markets.
Company Overview
AEW Europe manages €73.4 billion in assets globally as of September 2025, according to the IRE.IQ Real Estate Managers Guide, published annually by Institutional Real Estate, Inc. Advisers on the Cavaillon transaction included Etude Monassier, Gide, IREO, ICF-Antea, and Elan.
