Alliance Residential Launches Midwest Division, Names Ryan Adams Managing Director to Lead Multifamily Development Push

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. — Alliance Residential Company has appointed Ryan Adams as Managing Director of a newly established Midwest Division, the firm announced May 26, 2026. Adams will lead multifamily real estate development efforts across the region, with responsibility spanning site acquisition, entitlement, financing, and construction completion as the company moves to expand its footprint in key Midwest markets.

A New Division Signals Strategic Commitment to Midwest Multifamily Real Estate

The creation of a standalone Midwest Division marks a structural shift for Alliance Residential, one of the largest rental residential real estate developers in the United States. Headquartered in Scottsdale, Arizona, the firm currently operates 19 regional offices across 16 states and 39 metropolitan markets, developing communities under its Broadstone, Holden, and Prose brands.

Adams Brings Full Development Lifecycle Experience to the Role

Adams joins Alliance Residential from Cityscape Residential in Overland Park, Kansas, where he served as Vice President and led multifamily and mixed-use development projects across the Midwest from acquisition and entitlement through financing and construction completion. Prior to that role, he served as Associate Director of Development at Port KC, Kansas City's Port Authority, where he helped lead the Kansas City riverfront mixed-use redevelopment plan — a 120-acre initiative that has catalyzed more than $1 billion in investment — while also evaluating public and private development opportunities.

Earlier in his career, Adams served as Real Estate Development Manager at Structure Management Midwest in Chicago, where he managed retail and multifamily projects and oversaw asset portfolios exceeding $250 million in value.

Adams holds a master's degree in real estate with an emphasis in finance from the University of Illinois Chicago and a bachelor's degree in architecture from the University of Kansas.

He has served as board chair and founding board member of Kansas City B-Cycle and BikeWalkKC, currently serves on the board of Urban Trail Company, and is a member of ULI Kansas City.
