Houston-based investment advisory firm Marble Capital has hired Doug Goff as a portfolio manager to lead its open-end multifamily real estate strategy, the firm announced Feb. 27. Goff joins from Hines, where he most recently served as senior managing director of investment management and portfolio manager for strategic separate accounts since 2020, based in London and Houston.

Marble Capital Expands Leadership in Multifamily Real Estate

Goff brings more than 18 years of real estate investment and portfolio management experience across investment strategies on behalf of non-traded REITs and institutional funds. In his new role, he is charged with leading the open-end strategy on behalf of Marble Capital and its investor partners.

"Doug is an industry veteran with deep investment experience and a strong track record in portfolio management," said Adam Allen, co-founder and managing principal of Marble Capital. "We believe that our platform is well-positioned to deliver outsized returns for our investors through up and down cycles, and Doug's hire will help us execute on this goal."

Goff said joining Marble Capital represents an opportunity to partner with a team with shared values and a differentiated investment strategy. "Marble is unique in offering a differentiated investment strategy with the ability to create value throughout cycles," Goff said. "I am thrilled to be part of and contribute to the inevitable growth this firm will enjoy going forward."

Real Estate Acquisition and Development Activity Drives AUM Growth

The hire comes as Marble Capital continues to expand its platform amid an uneven commercial real estate recovery. The firm recently surpassed $3.0 billion in assets under management and has invested in the development or acquisition of approximately 60,000 multifamily apartment units, primarily in Sunbelt markets. Marble Capital is currently deploying common and preferred equity in multifamily real estate developments across the United States through its flagship fund series.

In 2025, the firm secured a $300 million commitment from one of the nation's largest university endowments related to its flagship strategy. That same year, Marble Capital was named one of the top 100 largest private equity real estate firms in the world by PERE. The firm's team has grown to include 40 professionals over the past decade.

"We believe this is an exciting time, both in the market cycle and for our firm's growth," said David Oelfke, co-founder and managing principal. "Our goal is to deliver investors consistent, high-quality returns by capitalizing on strong demographic tailwinds. People are what really matter and the bedrock of our platform is decades of investment and management experience."

Open-End Strategy and Qualified Opportunity Zone Initiative

While Goff will lead the open-end investment strategy, Marble Capital is also finalizing a new strategy focused on Qualified Opportunity Zone investments.
