MCB Real Estate Acquires Ownership Interest in Annapolis Plaza With Institutional Partner

MCB Real Estate has acquired an ownership interest in Annapolis Plaza, a 165,565-square-foot retail center located at 150 Jennifer Road in Annapolis, Maryland, the commercial real estate investment management firm announced June 19. An institutional partner will retain an ownership interest in the property, while MCB will oversee leasing strategy, asset management, and property management at the center.
Property Overview: A High-Traffic Necessity Retail Destination
Annapolis Plaza is anchored by what MCB describes as Maryland's most visited Trader Joe's, alongside Homesense, HomeGoods, and Marshalls. A World Market location is also slated to open at the center. The property recorded 2.8 million visits in 2025 and sits along the US-301/US-50 corridor, which carries more than 120,000 average daily vehicle trips. The surrounding trade area reports an average household income exceeding $125,000.
Deal Structure: An Operator-Led Partnership Model
The transaction's structure — in which an institutional partner retains an ownership stake while MCB assumes full operational control — reflects MCB's fully integrated, vertically aligned platform, with leasing, asset management, and property management handled in-house.
Financial terms of the transaction, including sale price, cap rate, and occupancy figures, were not disclosed.
"The acquisition of Annapolis Plaza is a testament to our team's ability to identify high-quality institutional assets that align with our long-term growth objectives," said P. David Bramble, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of MCB Real Estate. "By securing a dominant center with some of the most attractive retailers in the country, we are capitalizing on proven foot traffic and long-term stability. We remain focused on maintaining this momentum as we continue to scale our national retail platform."
Annapolis Plaza Within MCB's Expanding Retail Strategy
MCB Real Estate characterized the Annapolis Plaza acquisition as the latest addition to its grocery-anchored retail portfolio, a segment the firm says it identified as resilient early in the market cycle. The firm noted that retail remains a "fundamental cornerstone" of its operator model even as it expands across industrial, life sciences, office, mixed-use, and multifamily sectors.
The Annapolis transaction follows a period of platform growth for MCB. In the first quarter of 2026, the firm acquired Texas-based Epic Real Estate Partners, a move that added approximately $575 million in assets under management. Separately, MCB and Osiris Ventures are pursuing a $100 million redevelopment of the former Century 21 department store parcel in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn. GlobeSt named the MCB Real Estate retail team a 2026 Influencer in Retail Real Estate, citing the organization's operational contributions to the sector.
The Annapolis Plaza deal extends MCB's presence in the Mid-Atlantic region. The property is located adjacent to the US-50/US-301 corridor in Annapolis, Maryland.
