Newmark has negotiated a 166,867-square-foot, long-term headquarters lease renewal and expansion on behalf of the North Los Angeles County Regional Center (NLACRC) at 9200 Oakdale Avenue in Chatsworth, California, the firm announced March 20, 2026. According to Newmark Research, the transaction represents the largest office lease by square footage in Los Angeles County year-to-date.

Deal Details and Tenant Background

NLACRC previously occupied 112,115 square feet at the property as its headquarters. The renewal and expansion adds approximately 54,752 square feet, bringing the nonprofit's total footprint at 9200 Oakdale Avenue to 166,867 square feet. Financial terms of the lease, including rent and lease duration beyond the characterization of "long-term," were not disclosed.

NLACRC is a nonprofit organization that partners with community-based organizations to serve individuals with developmental disabilities and their families. It is the largest of California's 21 regional centers established under the Lanterman Developmental Disabilities Services Act of 1969, serving the highest number of consumers among them.

Facing an upcoming lease expiration and outgrowing its existing space, NLACRC engaged Newmark's integrated tenant advisory team to guide its search for an optimized headquarters solution.

For NLACRC, renewing and expanding at its existing Chatsworth location avoids relocation costs and operational disruption while securing additional capacity. The transaction involved brokerage, workplace strategy, project management, and debt advisory services from Newmark.
