Standard Real Estate Hires Buji Tallapragada as Principal for Washington D.C. Asset Management

Standard Real Estate Investors announced February 4, 2026, that Buji Tallapragada has joined the firm as Principal, based in Washington D.C. The diversified middle market investment manager with offices in Los Angeles and the nation's capital positioned Tallapragada to lead its asset management divisions and support new investment activity.

Tallapragada will work closely with Standard Real Estate President Jerome Nichols, who is also based in the Washington D.C. office.

Executive Leadership Brings Industry Experience

Prior to joining Standard Real Estate, Tallapragada led the asset management team at Penzance, a fully integrated owner, operator, and developer based in Washington, D.C. with over $1 billion of discretionary capital across multiple comingled, closed-end fund vehicles. At Penzance, he served as a member of both the Asset Management and ESG committees.

Before Penzance, Tallapragada spent time with Dweck Properties, The JBG Companies (now JBG Smith), and CBRE Investors, in roles spanning acquisitions, operations, and asset management.

Educational Background and Personal Details

Tallapragada received an MBA from the University of Southern California Marshall School of Business and a Bachelor of Science from New York University. He currently resides in Bethesda, Maryland with his wife and two children.

The appointment positions Standard Real Estate to expand its asset management capabilities and investment activity in the Washington D.C. region.
