Union Investment Real Estate has announced a series of leasing and disposition transactions spanning retail, office, and warehouse real estate in the weeks leading up to mid-May 2026, reflecting active portfolio management across the firm's international holdings.

Retail Real Estate Disposition: Fountains of Boynton Shopping Center

On May 17, 2026, Union Investment Real Estate announced the sale of the Fountains of Boynton shopping center located in Boynton Beach, Florida. The firm did not disclose the sale price or the identity of the buyer.

The sale follows a January 2026 disposition in which Union Investment sold the Sisjö Entré retail park in Gothenburg, Sweden, and a separate acquisition of the Gewerbepark Stadlau retail park in Vienna from Nextensa, also announced in January 2026.

Office Real Estate Leasing: 140 Broadway, New York City

On May 11, 2026, Union Investment Real Estate announced it had signed an eight-year lease with Athena Club, a U.S. personal care company, for approximately 1,100 square meters of office space at 140 Broadway in New York City. Athena Club is set to occupy the space beginning in June 2026, and the lease represents a doubling of the company's headquarters footprint.

The Athena Club lease adds to a pattern of office real estate leasing activity Union Investment has pursued across multiple markets in 2026. Earlier in the year, the firm signed leases totaling 4,855 square meters in Hamburg's EMPORIO Tower and secured two new tenants at Building 27 on the Neue Balan campus in Munich, bringing that property to 98% occupancy within the UniImmo: Deutschland portfolio. In Lyon, France, the firm leased 2,112 square meters to Caisse des Dépôts at the Audessa office building following a repositioning effort.

Warehouse Real Estate Leasing: City Logistics Hub, Nuremberg

On May 3, 2026, Union Investment Real Estate announced it had signed a lease agreement with TOGE Dübel, a specialist in concrete fixings, for two logistics warehouses — including office space — at the new City Logistics Hub in Nuremberg, Germany. Financial terms and the total square footage of the leased space were not disclosed.

Broader Portfolio Context

The spring 2026 transactions follow a year in which Union Investment Real Estate reported securing rental income of 282 million euros for its funds in 2025, having let or re-let approximately 890,650 square meters of real estate space across its portfolio during that year. The firm described 2025 as a challenging market environment in a February 2026 press release.

In addition to its U.S. and German activity, Union Investment Real Estate sold the Copyright Building in Central London to Ares Commercial Real Estate in February 2026 and sold an office property at Prinzregentenplatz 7–9 in Munich to CONREN Land in April 2026. The firm also signed a lease for the first and second floors of "The Precedent" office and retail building in Brussels to Industrious in late April 2026.
