Catena AB Acquires Second Helsinki Airport Logistics Property in One Week

VANTAA, Finland — Catena AB has acquired a logistics property in Aviapolis, Vantaa, adjacent to Helsinki Airport, the Swedish real estate company announced May 26, 2026. The property serves as DHL's principal logistics hub in Finland, according to Catena.
The transaction marks Catena's second acquisition at Helsinki Airport within a single week. On May 20, the company announced a separate acquisition of a logistics property in the same Aviapolis submarket — a facility serving as Cramo Finland's headquarters and main logistics and service hub — for approximately SEK 575 million.
Catena's Expansion in the Finnish Market
The back-to-back deals follow Catena's entry into the Finnish market through a portfolio acquisition announced in February 2026, which the company described at the time as enabling it to gain a foothold in Finland while further strengthening its positions in Sweden and Denmark.
Both of the May 2026 acquisitions are located in Aviapolis, the district directly adjacent to Helsinki Airport in Vantaa.
DHL Hub Acquisition Details
The newly acquired property functions as DHL's main logistics hub in Finland, according to Catena's announcement. Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed. By comparison, the Cramo Finland acquisition announced May 20 carried a disclosed investment value of approximately SEK 575 million.
Catena's press release did not disclose the size, configuration, year of construction, or lease terms of the DHL hub property.
Catena AB's Recent Portfolio Activity
The Finnish acquisitions come alongside other recent activity in Catena's Nordic portfolio. In March 2026, the company acquired a terminal in Jönköping, Sweden, for SEK 189 million. In April 2026, Catena signed an agreement to divest ten Swedish properties for SEK 614 million.
On the capital markets side, Catena completed an issuance of SEK 3.25 billion in green bonds in April 2026, with maturities of two, three, and five years under its MTN programme. The company's first-quarter 2026 interim report showed rental income rising 9 percent to SEK 701 million, with profit from property management reaching SEK 424 million, a 7 percent increase compared to the same period in 2025.
Fitch Ratings affirmed Catena's credit rating at BBB with a stable outlook in February 2026.
Catena AB's full-year 2025 results, reported in February 2026, showed profit from property management of SEK 1,613 million and rental income growth of 21 percent, with the company describing occupancy as remaining high across its portfolio.
Additional details on the DHL hub acquisition, including property size, purchase price, and lease terms, were not available at the time of publication.
