Dermody, a Reno-based private equity real estate firm specializing in logistics and warehouse real estate, has appointed Mark Lewis as Senior Vice President of Development for its Southern California region.

Strategic Expansion in Southern California Industrial Market

The appointment positions Dermody to expand its presence in Southern California's industrial real estate sector. The firm currently maintains seven available properties totaling 1.1 million square feet in the region, with no projects currently under construction.

Founded in 1960, Dermody has developed approximately 110 million square feet of logistics real estate nationwide, with over $10 billion in total real estate capital invested. The firm specializes in Class A properties including its LogistiCenter® developments—state-of-the-art warehouse facilities strategically located near major highways, ports, and rail infrastructure.

Lewis joins a Southern California team that includes Partner Matthew Mexia and Investment Manager Jason Lu. His role will focus on overseeing real estate development activities in the region.

Dermody's Southern California Activity

Dermody has demonstrated active real estate acquisition in the region, purchasing two Fontana logistics buildings at 7580 and 7630 Cherry Avenue totaling 203,451 square feet in 2021. The firm also completed LogistiCenter® at Irvine I & II, encompassing 224,920 square feet total, in October 2025, with one building leased to a large automaker.

Total Real Estate Portfolio and Regional Presence

Beyond Southern California, Dermody maintains regional offices across eight regions including East, Midwest, Nevada, Northwest, Southwest, Southeast, and West. The firm's capabilities span development, real estate acquisition and investment management, and asset management.

Recent activity includes leasing 389,892 square feet across three Northern Nevada facilities in late 2025. The firm also acquired a 121,836-square-foot logistics center in Southern California in recent transactions.

Dermody's LogistiCenter® developments typically feature high-clearance specifications ranging from 30 to 36 feet, 15 or more dock doors, and proximity to major transportation corridors. These facilities serve tenants including Mercedes-Benz, Target, and FedEx.
