•2 min read

Gencom, a Miami-based investment firm, announced February 6, 2026, the acquisition of The Ritz-Carlton New York, Central Park, a 253-key hotel at 50 Central Park South in Midtown Manhattan. The hospitality real estate transaction marks the firm's third luxury hotel acquisition in New York City in the last 16 months.

The real estate acquisition was financed by Banco Inbursa. The transaction price was not disclosed.

Expanding Manhattan Hospitality Real Estate Portfolio

The Ritz-Carlton acquisition follows Gencom's purchase of the Thompson Central Park in 2024 and the InterContinental New York Times Square in December 2025. The three transactions expand the firm's presence in Manhattan's luxury hospitality market over a 16-month period.

"Gencom continues to see compelling long-term opportunities in New York City, particularly for luxury assets with enduring global appeal," said Karim Alibhai, Founder and Principal of Gencom. "The Ritz-Carlton Central Park is one of the most iconic properties in the city, distinguished by its park frontage and position at the center of Manhattan's luxury ecosystem."

The acquisition strengthens Gencom's relationship with The Ritz-Carlton brand, representing the firm's 11th Ritz-Carlton-branded project.

Property Details and Real Estate Development Features

The property is situated at the corner of Central Park South and Sixth Avenue in the Plaza District, with immediate access to Central Park and one block from Fifth Avenue's luxury retail corridor. The hotel features 253 guest rooms, including 47 suites.

The hotel property includes Contour, an all-day gastro lounge serving locally inspired small plates and refined cocktails; the Ritz-Carlton Club Lounge with park views offering curated culinary presentations; the Forbes Four-Star La Prairie Spa with private treatment rooms and tailored wellness experiences; and a renovated fitness center equipped with Technogym equipment and Peloton bikes.

Commercial Real Estate Financing Structure

Banco Inbursa provided commercial real estate financing for the transaction. Specific loan terms were not disclosed. Banco Inbursa is described as a leading international financial institution with a track record financing hospitality and commercial real estate assets.

"This acquisition builds upon our growing New York platform and further strengthens our presence in one of the world's leading hospitality markets," Alibhai said.
