Hubbell Realty Names Kyle Gamble President & CEO, Succeeding Retiring Rick Tollakson

WEST DES MOINES, Iowa — Hubbell has named Kyle Gamble as President and Chief Executive Officer, the West Des Moines-based real estate firm announced March 30, 2026. Gamble succeeds Rick Tollakson, who is officially retiring after a lengthy tenure leading the company.

Gamble, who most recently served as President and Chief Operating Officer, has spent 32 years at Hubbell in roles spanning brokerage, operations, management, and strategic development across the firm's commercial and residential real estate portfolio.

A 32-Year Career at Hubbell

Gamble joined Hubbell in 1994 and spent 18 years as Managing Director for CBRE | Hubbell Commercial, where he led office, retail, industrial, and multifamily teams. Following that role, he advanced through a series of expanded leadership positions, ultimately being named Executive Vice President and COO in 2024.

In early 2025, Gamble was elevated to President and COO — a step that preceded his appointment to the top role. As Executive Vice President, he provided strategic oversight for 16 business units spanning commercial and residential real estate, including property management, development, construction, homebuilding, and asset management.

Tollakson Reflects on Succession

Outgoing CEO Rick Tollakson expressed confidence in the transition, citing Gamble's regional expertise and operational track record.

"Hubbell, our associates, and the community are in good hands with Kyle. His extensive market experience, balanced leadership, and deep understanding of the Iowa and Midwest real estate markets position him well to guide the company's next chapter," Tollakson said.

The leadership change reflects a planned succession process, with Gamble having been progressively elevated over the prior two years before assuming the CEO title.

Hubbell Realty Company operates across Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota through 16 divisions focused on development, construction, homebuilding, and property management services. The firm employs nearly 500 associates.

The company's business units include Indigo Living for apartment living, Highmark Senior Living, Hubbell Homes, Origin Homes, Embarq Signature Homes, and construction and development services divisions, among others. The firm is headquartered at 6900 Westown Parkway in West Des Moines.

On April 21, 2026, Hubbell will mark its 170th anniversary. Gamble is a lifelong Iowan, and the firm noted his deep familiarity with Iowa and Midwest real estate markets as a key factor in the appointment.
