Phoenix — December 8, 2025: Kidder Mathews, the largest fully independent commercial real estate firm in the Western United States, marked its 10-year anniversary in Phoenix with a conference highlighting growth in the region’s office and industrial real estate sectors.

The firm hosted the Phoenix 10 Conference, bringing together nearly 150 clients, colleagues, and industry leaders to discuss construction, lending, and development trends shaping the regional market. Participants included representatives from Panattoni, Wespac Construction, KeyBank, ViaWest Group, and Globe Corporation.

Decade of Expansion and Real Estate Development

Since opening its Phoenix office in 2015 with one staff member and eight brokers, Kidder Mathews has expanded to 70 professionals across brokerage, asset services, and valuation advisory. The firm reported $5.37 billion in completed transaction volume over the past decade and has been recognized by the Phoenix Business Journal as one of the Top 10 Commercial Real Estate Brokerage Firms for five consecutive years.

All eight founding brokers remain with the firm, including Eric Bell, Mike Ciosek, Darren Tappen, Dylan Scott, Mike Kasulatis, Matthew Ault, Aric Adams, and Jenette Bennett. The firm stated that this continuity reflects its ability to attract and retain experienced professionals in the competitive commercial real estate market.

Industrial and Office Real Estate Growth

Kidder Mathews’ Phoenix operations have expanded alongside the city’s broader commercial real estate development trends. The firm’s valuation advisory team has grown revenue by 60% since 2020, and its asset services division added more than 400,000 square feet to its managed portfolio in 2025. The portfolio includes a mix of property types, including office, medical, retail, and flex/R&D spaces.

“We saw the potential for Phoenix to become one of the most dynamic markets in the country—and that momentum hasn’t slowed,” said Darren Tappen, Regional President of Brokerage for Greater Los Angeles, Southern California, and Arizona. “Our success here reflects not only the region’s tremendous growth but the commitment of our people to deliver local expertise and long-term client partnerships.”

Market Context and Regional Momentum

Phoenix’s commercial real estate market has experienced sustained expansion over the past decade, supported by population and business growth. Industrial and office real estate have been key drivers, with logistics and flex/R&D spaces gaining traction due to the region’s strategic location and business-friendly environment. Kidder Mathews’ continued investment in asset management and brokerage services aligns with these broader market trends.

Executive Vice President Mike Ciosek said the firm’s collaborative culture and independent structure have been central to its growth. “I felt called to be part of something I could collaboratively help build—an environment and culture that were more unified, more innovative, and more ‘us’ than what a typical brokerage model offered,” Ciosek said.

Looking Ahead

Kidder Mathews’ 10-year milestone in Phoenix highlights the city’s continued importance as a commercial real estate hub in the Western United States. The firm’s ongoing expansion in office and industrial real estate positions it to serve future demand for brokerage, valuation, and asset management services in the region.
