Lincoln Property Company Acquires The Spectrum Companies in Carolinas Expansion
DALLAS — July 14, 2026 — Lincoln Property Company has acquired The Spectrum Companies, a Charlotte-based full-service real estate firm, in a move the Dallas-headquartered company said deepens its presence across the Carolinas and extends its reach into Northern and Central Florida's multifamily market.
The acquisition brings together two firms that Lincoln described as having complementary capabilities and closely aligned cultures. Johno Harris, Senior Executive Vice President at Lincoln Property Company, and Stephen McClure, CEO of The Spectrum Companies, will jointly lead Lincoln's expanded Carolinas platform.
Deal Details and Leadership Structure
Since its founding in 1982, The Spectrum Companies has developed nearly 7,000 multifamily units and currently leases and manages a total of 4.4 million square feet of assets. That portfolio now folds into Lincoln Property Company's broader management and leasing operation, which spans more than 720 million square feet of commercial space on behalf of institutional clients across the United States, United Kingdom, and Europe.
Darryl Dewberry, Spectrum's Executive Chairman, will remain in his role to ensure continuity for the development and investment partnerships he has helped cultivate across the Carolinas, Lincoln said.
"Lincoln has long been committed to the Carolinas, and this acquisition reflects that commitment in a meaningful way," Harris said in a statement. "By joining forces with Spectrum, we are well-positioned to grow our footprint and serve clients at a higher level across the Carolinas."
McClure cited cultural alignment as a driver of the transaction. "Lincoln's people-first culture and business built on trust and collaboration is why we're proud to partner," he said. "Our shared values are the foundation for seamless integration, and Lincoln's full-service platform and national resources will only strengthen what we've already built."
Strategic Rationale
Lincoln said the combined firm is positioned to expand its development and acquisition pipeline across both multifamily and commercial real estate, with Spectrum continuing to build on existing customer and investor relationships while incorporating Lincoln's vertically integrated service capabilities.
The deal also extends Lincoln's footprint into Northern and Central Florida through Spectrum's multifamily business in those markets.
Lincoln Property Company describes itself as one of the largest private real estate firms in the United States, offering services to owners, investors, lenders, and occupiers across asset types including office, multifamily, life science, retail, industrial, data center, healthcare, government, and mixed-use properties.
The Spectrum Companies is described as a commercial real estate firm focused on creating what it calls "special places" through development, leasing, and management.
Financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
