Lument has hired two seniors housing investment sales professionals to expand its real estate advisory platform into the sector, the firm announced Feb. 26. Alex Florea joins as managing director and Kevin Lukehart as director, with both executives tasked with advising seniors housing investors, developers, and owner-operators on marketing, disposition strategy, and portfolio optimization.

New Hires and Their Roles

Florea will lead the newly formed seniors housing investment sales team, working closely with John Sebree, head of real estate investment sales at Lument, and Aaron Becker, head of seniors housing and healthcare debt production. Lukehart will support origination and execution alongside Florea.

Prior to joining Lument, Florea served as managing director at Blueprint HCRE, where he led the national institutional coverage team. In that role, he closed more than $2 billion in transactions as a broker and accumulated more than $7 billion in transaction volume as a principal through prior positions at Ventas, Enlivant, and Care Capital Properties, which is now part of Sabra Health Care REIT. Lukehart also previously worked at Blueprint HCRE, where he and Florea together executed more than $1 billion in seniors housing transactions.

"Our goal is to provide clients with a unified advisory platform where investment sales and debt teams operate in lockstep," Sebree said. "Alex and Kevin deepen our investment sales expertise into seniors housing and will leverage the strength of Lument's debt platform to deliver more coordinated and comprehensive solutions for our clients."

Integrated Advisory Strategy

The hires are part of Lument's broader strategy to combine its established seniors housing debt financing capabilities with expanded investment sales services. The firm, a subsidiary of Orix Capital Corporation, has provided seniors housing organizations with capital solutions for more than 35 years, spanning new construction, rehabilitation, renovation, refinancing, real estate acquisition, and divestiture.

"We see a significant opportunity to bring a more integrated advisory approach to seniors housing investors at a pivotal time for the sector," Florea said. "By combining Lument's established seniors housing debt platform with expanded investment sales capabilities, we are positioned to help clients optimize portfolios, execute strategic dispositions, and navigate an evolving market with greater precision and insight."

Lument's commercial real estate financing platform serves investors in multifamily, affordable housing, and senior living healthcare real estate. The firm offers Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, USDA, and balance sheet loan products, as well as capital markets lending, real estate investment sales, investment banking, and investment management services. The company employs approximately 550 people across 30 offices nationwide.
