AirTrunk Opens Singapore Regional HQ, Backed by S$2.25B Green Loan and Several Billion in Direct Investment

AirTrunk, an Asia Pacific and Middle East hyperscale data center specialist, officially opened its new regional headquarters in Singapore on March 13, 2026, marking a decade of operations in the city-state and underscoring its long-term commitment to the region's digital infrastructure landscape.

The new office is located at the Ocean Financial Centre, situated in Singapore's financial and technology district with panoramic Marina Bay views. The space was architecturally designed by Woods Bagot and incorporates wellness zones, flexible collaboration spaces, and energy-efficient design. The building holds a BCA Green Mark Platinum Super Low Energy designation.

Several Billion Dollars of Direct Investment Across Three Hyperscale Facilities

Since entering Singapore in 2016, AirTrunk has committed several billion dollars of direct investment across three hyperscale facilities in the city-state, totaling 180MW of IT load.

In August 2025, AirTrunk secured a S$2.25 billion green loan to finance its second Singapore hyperscale data center, SGP2 — described at the time as Singapore's largest-ever loan and green loan for a data center.

Singapore as a Hub for Global Companies in Technology

Singapore Economic Development Board Executive Vice President Pee Beng Kong cited AirTrunk's decade-long presence and its decision to establish a regional headquarters as evidence of the city-state's broader appeal. Minister for Digital Development and Information Josephine Teo delivered a keynote speech at the opening ceremony, addressing Singapore's strategy to build a sustainable, future-ready digital infrastructure.

The new headquarters houses senior executives and teams spanning design and innovation, development, operations, treasury, legal, and corporate functions. AirTrunk said it expects strong workforce growth over the next several years as Singapore continues to serve as its Asia headquarters.

Alignment With Singapore's National AI Strategy and Green Data Centre Roadmap

The headquarters opening aligns with Singapore's 2026 Budget, which reaffirmed the nation's commitment to digital infrastructure, including an additional S$1 billion investment in AI research and development under the National AI Strategy 2.0. Demand for secure, locally hosted compute has risen alongside AI workloads that require low latency, strong governance frameworks, and integration with Singapore's research and talent ecosystem.

AirTrunk's three Singapore data centers are aligned with the country's Digital Connectivity Blueprint and Green Data Centre Roadmap, according to the company. The Ocean Financial Centre office itself reflects those sustainability priorities, operating within a Platinum-rated green building.

Community Investment Alongside Infrastructure Expansion

Alongside its data center investments, AirTrunk outlined several community partnerships in Singapore. These include a digital literacy program for low-income women through Daughters of Tomorrow, conservation support at Mandai Mangrove and Mudflat Nature Park through the Garden City Fund in partnership with the National Parks Board, a citizen science initiative with WWF-Singapore focused on identifying illegal wildlife trade listings using AI-driven technology, and disaster preparedness support through the Singapore Red Cross Society.

The headquarters opening positions AirTrunk's Singapore operations as a central node for its broader Asia Pacific and Middle East expansion, with the company citing rising hyperscale demand as a driver of continued investment in the region's digital infrastructure.
