CBRE Investment Management-Backed Accelerate Closes $630M Equity Raise, Surpassing $1.26B in Total Commitments
Accelerate Infrastructure Opportunities, a platform backed by CBRE Investment Management, has closed a $630 million primary capital raise, pushing total equity commitments to $1.26 billion, the firms announced May 7, 2026. The raise drew new capital from sovereign investor Mubadala Investment Company and Australian Retirement Trust, alongside additional investments from funds managed by CBRE Investment Management.
Deal Structure and Investor Composition
The $630 million raise represents a primary capital close and brings the infrastructure site acquisition platform to $1.26 billion in total committed equity since its December 2022 launch. Investors in the round include Mubadala Investment Company, the Abu Dhabi-based sovereign wealth fund managing a global portfolio of approximately $385 billion, and Australian Retirement Trust. Additional unnamed global institutional investors also participated alongside existing capital from CBRE Investment Management-managed funds.
The platform's founder and chief executive, Brennan Potts, said the capital raise reflects institutional confidence in infrastructure cash flows. "This capital reflects deep alignment with long-term institutional partners who understand the durability of infrastructure cash flows," Potts said. "Our strategy is built on acquiring infrastructure sites that underpin digital connectivity, renewable energy, and mobility, and scaling them through disciplined execution. Reaching $1.26 billion in capital commitments gives us the scale and capital certainty to continue to pursue the most compelling infrastructure opportunities."
Portfolio Scale and Strategy
Since launching its infrastructure site acquisition strategy in December 2022, Accelerate Infrastructure Opportunities has assembled a portfolio of more than 400 infrastructure sites across 47 U.S. states. The platform targets real estate tied to digital connectivity, renewable energy, and mobility and transportation infrastructure.
The platform acquires, owns, and manages real estate tied to critical infrastructure sites designed to generate long-term, sustainable cash flows. Accelerate maintains offices in Plano, Texas; New York City; and Los Angeles.
Robert Shaw, Managing Director at CBRE Investment Management, said the raise positions the platform for continued growth. "Leveraging the breadth and capabilities of the CBRE platform and a premier management team, Accelerate quickly established itself as the leading infrastructure site platform," Shaw said. "CBRE Investment Management is proud to increase our support of Accelerate and welcome Mubadala, ART and our other partners to the platform. This strategic capital raise will enable Accelerate to continue to scale its diversified portfolio of key infrastructure assets and deliver durable infrastructure cash flows to investors."
Investor Rationale: Digital Infrastructure and Energy Nexus
For Mubadala, the investment extends the sovereign fund's exposure to U.S. infrastructure at the intersection of digital connectivity and energy systems. Giovanni Oddo, Head of Americas, Infrastructure at Mubadala Investment Company, described the United States as a key strategic market. "This partnership with CBRE Investment Management further expands our infrastructure exposure in the United States, a key strategic market for Mubadala," Oddo said. "The investment aligns with our focus on key infrastructure at the intersection of digital connectivity and energy systems. As demand accelerates across data, power, and mobility, platforms like Accelerate play an important role in enabling the infrastructure required to support a rapidly evolving global economy."
