CBRE Investment Management Hires Laura Dunn, Promotes Colin Rosenbaum to Lead Commercial Real Estate Platform in Americas
CBRE Investment Management has appointed Laura Dunn as Head of the Commercial Operator Division for Americas Direct Real Estate and promoted Colin Rosenbaum to the newly created role of Head of Americas Direct Commercial Transactions, the firm announced March 27, 2026. Both executives will be based in the firm's New York City office.
Leadership Appointments Strengthen Commercial Real Estate Platform
In her new role, Dunn will oversee the Transactions and Asset Management teams covering retail, office, life science, self-storage, and medical office across the United States. She joins CBRE Investment Management from Spear Street Capital, an owner, operator, and developer of Class A office assets across the U.S. and Canada, where she most recently served as Managing Director.
Dunn brings 20 years of industry experience, having worked across acquisitions, dispositions, leasing, and financing at Spear Street Capital, while also directing strategic asset-level initiatives for the owned portfolio. During her tenure there, she focused on sourcing and executing value-add investments in the New York and Southeast regions. She began her career at UBS within the real estate finance group.
Dunn holds a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and a Master of Business Administration from Columbia Business School.
Rosenbaum Elevated to Lead Commercial Real Estate Acquisitions
Colin Rosenbaum, who joined CBRE Investment Management in 2022 as a Senior Director for Commercial Acquisitions, has been elevated to lead commercial investment activity across the United States for the firm's core, enhanced return, and separate account strategies. His 18 years of experience spans institutional real estate investment management and development across multiple sectors and risk profiles, with prior leadership roles at Regent Properties and Parkway.
The firm noted that Rosenbaum has demonstrated an ability to lead complex transactions across a range of execution formats, including single-asset acquisitions, large portfolios, Opco investments, and take-privates.
Firm Signals Active Capital Deployment Across Commercial Sectors
Julie Ingersoll, Chief Investment Officer of Americas Direct Real Estate Strategies at CBRE Investment Management, said the commercial platform is strategically central to the Americas Direct business line.
"Our commercial platform is strategically critical to the Americas Direct business, as this sector represents one of our largest portfolios with 165 assets in 48 markets. We are actively deploying significant capital across the commercial sectors, with a near-term focus on retail, self-storage and medical office," Ingersoll said.
Ingersoll added that Dunn's transactional expertise and operating capabilities make her well suited for the role, and that Rosenbaum is "ideally positioned to drive future investments across our commercial platform."
"I am thrilled to be joining a team of talented leaders across the various CBRE IM sectors," Dunn said. "The opportunity to contribute to CBRE IM's strategic growth and expand the firm's investment and operational capabilities in the commercial sector comes at an exciting point in the cycle, as historic repricing unfolds and user demand continues to recover."
