CBRE Investment Management Hires Paul White to Head EMEA Value-Add Fund Series
CBRE Investment Management has named Paul White as Head of the Europe Value Partners series, the firm's flagship value-add fund strategy in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. White is set to join the firm in October 2026 and will be based in London, the company announced April 15.
Role and Responsibilities
In his new position, White will lead the growth of the Europe Value Partners series, with responsibility for investment strategy, portfolio construction, capital deployment and investment performance. He will report to Rik Eertink, President and Chief Investment Officer of EMEA Direct Real Estate at CBRE Investment Management.
The appointment reflects what the firm described as the continued evolution of its European platform and its commitment to delivering real assets solutions across geographies, sectors and risk profiles.
White's Background in European Value-Add Real Estate
White joins CBRE Investment Management from Hines, where he most recently served as Fund Manager for Hines European Real Estate Partners, the firm's value-add fund series. Over the past decade, he built and led a pan-European value-add platform across multiple fund vintages, overseeing more than €7 billion of total real estate assets under management across funds and separate accounts as of 2025.
White brings more than 20 years of experience investing across major real estate sectors — including industrial and logistics, residential, retail, student housing and self-storage — and across every major European market. Prior to joining Hines in 2008, he held positions at Nomura and PwC. White earned a First Class Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy, Politics and Economics from the University of Oxford.
Executive Commentary
"Paul brings an outstanding track record of building and scaling value-add strategies across Europe," said Andy Glanzman, Co-CEO of CBRE Investment Management. "We have a strong business in EMEA, and this appointment builds on that foundation as we continue to invest in top talent and strengthen our ability to deliver differentiated solutions for our clients."
Eertink echoed that sentiment. "Paul deeply understands the European investment opportunity and how to capture it in today's market," he said. "He is a transformational leader who will leverage the broad capabilities of CBRE's platform to create a truly differentiating value proposition for our clients at scale in EMEA, consistent with our successful enhanced-return strategies in other regions and globally."
White, in turn, pointed to the firm's positioning as a factor in his decision. "CBRE Investment Management's position as a pure-play real assets investor, combined with the scale, connectivity, and market intelligence of the broader CBRE platform, creates a differentiated advantage and exciting value proposition for clients," he said. "CBRE IM is clearly a powerhouse in direct core investing in Europe. There is an exciting opportunity for the firm to grow its non-core direct investing activity in the region, and I am honoured to play a leading role in that expansion."
Strategic Context: Expanding Non-Core EMEA Investing
The hire signals CBRE Investment Management's intent to scale its non-core, value-add investing activity in EMEA, building on an existing core direct real estate platform in the region. The firm manages $155.5 billion in assets under management globally as of December 31, 2025, operating across 20 countries.
CBRE Investment Management is an independently operated affiliate of CBRE Group, Inc. (NYSE: CBRE), which the firm describes as the world's largest commercial real estate services and investment company, with more than 155,000 employees serving clients in more than 100 countries.
