CBRE Promotes Andrew Eisenberg to Market Leader for San Francisco Peninsula
CBRE announced Oct. 12 that Andrew Eisenberg has been promoted to Managing Director and Market Leader of the firm's Palo Alto and Burlingame offices, placing him in charge of its San Francisco Peninsula operations.
Eisenberg will lead strategic planning, business development, recruiting, sales management and advisory operations across the Peninsula, the firm said. He succeeds Steffen Kammerer, who assumed leadership of CBRE's Advisory Services in Northern California and Reno earlier this year.
Andrew Eisenberg's Role as CBRE Peninsula Market Leader
In his new position, Eisenberg will oversee CBRE's Palo Alto and Burlingame offices. CBRE said his platform expertise and leadership will support the firm's growth and strengthen its ability to deliver integrated real estate solutions to clients throughout the Peninsula.
Kammerer, now Executive Managing Director, Northern California and Reno, said in the announcement: "Andrew has consistently demonstrated the leadership, market knowledge and collaborative approach that define CBRE's culture. His deep relationships throughout the Silicon Valley and Peninsula position him well to support the success of our Palo Alto and Burlingame offices as we grow and deliver outstanding outcomes for clients. I could not be more excited for this next chapter of Andrew's career."
Eisenberg's Background at CBRE
Eisenberg brings more than a decade of experience in commercial real estate sales management, operations and business development. He began his career at CBRE as a research analyst before moving into sales management, where he most recently served as Senior Sales Director.
CBRE said Eisenberg played a key role in shaping sales operations regionally and nationally, as well as in recruiting efforts and the mentoring of emerging talent across the Bay Area. He also led CBRE's Bay Area internship program, which the firm said he transformed into one of its most competitive programs for aspiring commercial real estate professionals.
Eisenberg was named a Silicon Valley Business Journal 40 Under 40 honoree in 2026, an award that recognizes individuals who have made an impact on their industries and communities. He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of Colorado Boulder and an MBA from Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business.
Peninsula Office Market Backdrop
The leadership change comes as the San Francisco Peninsula office market remains challenged but shows signs of stabilization. The Peninsula recorded an overall office vacancy rate of 24.9% in the second quarter of 2026, with negative 138,189 square feet of net absorption. Average asking rents were $7.21 per square foot per month, full-service gross.
A separate first-quarter 2026 market report put overall vacancy at 21.9% and direct vacancy at 21.7%, describing demand as uneven across submarkets and noting that the pace of vacancy growth had slowed. The Peninsula market spans technology, life sciences, venture-backed companies and established corporate users.
