Union Investment Real Estate Real Estate has signed a lease agreement with Deutsche Bank for 7,566 square meters of office space at the EMPORIO Tower in Hamburg, the firm announced July 13, 2026. Deutsche Bank is scheduled to occupy the space in March 2027, under an initial five-year lease term that includes extension options.

The EMPORIO Tower, located at Valentinskamp 70 in Hamburg's city center, is the largest property in Union Investment's Hamburg office portfolio. The building is held within the UniImmo: Deutschland open-ended real estate fund, which has owned the asset since 1989. Union Investment noted that the transaction expanded the tower's tenant mix and resulted in increased rents. The property is currently fully leased.

EMPORIO Tower: A Landmark Hamburg Office Asset

Originally constructed in 1963, the EMPORIO Tower underwent extensive modernization between 2009 and 2011, during which two additional floors were added to bring the total to 23 upper floors. The building has held designated historic landmark status since 2001 and has received Platinum certification under the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) rating system.

Union Investment has described EMPORIO as the largest asset within its approximately 219,000 square meters of Hamburg office holdings.

Union Investment's Hamburg Office Portfolio

Beyond the EMPORIO Tower, Union Investment manages a range of office properties across Hamburg. Its portfolio in the city includes the Chilehaus, TRIIIO Hamburg, the Ericus-Contor, and the Falkenried complex.

The press release specifically cited both outcomes — expanded tenant mix and increased rents — as results of the transaction.
