Draper and Kramer Executive Edward Polich to Retire After Four-Decade Career in Real Estate
CHICAGO — December 15, 2025 — Draper and Kramer, Incorporated announced that Edward Polich, executive vice president of real estate, will retire at the end of 2025 after a 43-year career in the real estate industry.
Polich spent nearly two decades with Draper and Kramer across multiple tenures, including nine years as vice president in the 1980s, five years as chief development officer from 2014 to 2019, and his current role as executive vice president since 2019. During his time with the firm, Polich oversaw real estate investment and development initiatives, particularly in the multifamily sector.
Leadership and Strategic Contributions
As executive vice president of real estate, Polich chaired Draper and Kramer’s investment committee, leading the evaluation of potential transactions to ensure alignment with the company’s strategic direction. He played a key role in formulating and adopting a new strategic plan that transitioned the firm to an open-ended fund model, designed to streamline its investment approach and provide flexibility in responding to market conditions.
“When we think about the 132-year history of Draper and Kramer, there are certain people along the way who have left an indelible mark on this firm’s legacy — and Ed is definitely one of them,” said Roger Pollak, board chairman for Draper and Kramer. “He has not only played a part in many of our most notable projects, but he’s also shaped many of our business practices and ensured we are positioned for success for years to come.”
Notable Real Estate Development Projects
During his tenure as chief development officer, Polich led several Draper and Kramer multifamily projects, including 61 Banks Street, Aspire Residences and Wrigleyville Lofts in Chicago; Moda at The Hill in St. Louis; and Tempo Nine Mile Station in Aurora. Under his guidance, the firm also expanded its portfolio into additional target regions, including metro markets in Arizona, Colorado and Texas.
Founded in 1893 and headquartered in Chicago, Draper and Kramer operates as a full-service real estate firm involved in development, property management, and investment across the United States.
Outlook
The firm has not yet announced a successor for Polich. His retirement marks a leadership transition as Draper and Kramer continues to manage its portfolio and pursue new real estate opportunities.
