SINGAPORE and SHANGHAI — GLP Group announced March 26 the opening of a new East China distribution center for international supermarket retailer ALDI at GLP Wuxi Airport Logistics Park, the company's second project with the retailer and the latest sign of growing demand for modern logistics infrastructure in the Yangtze River Delta region.

The facility spans approximately 36,000 square meters — roughly 387,500 square feet — and is located adjacent to Wuxi Airport within what the company describes as a high-density consumption corridor. The center serves ALDI stores across Wuxi, Shanghai and Suzhou, and includes both dry and cold storage to support fresh, chilled and ambient product lines.

Cold-Chain Infrastructure and GFS Operations

Cold-chain operations at the new facility will be managed by GFS, GLP's in-house cold-chain services provider. GFS manages 4.2 million cubic meters of cold storage capacity across China and serves food and beverage retailers nationwide. The Wuxi center features storage with different temperature-controlled zones to suit the specific needs of diverse products, enabling end-to-end cold-chain fulfillment for ALDI's product range.

The integration of GFS into the facility reflects GLP's broader strategy of offering logistics customers services beyond warehousing, including automation, cold-chain management and sustainable technologies. The company describes this as an "integrated ecosystem" spanning logistics, digital infrastructure and new energy.

Second Project Deepens GLP-ALDI Partnership

The Wuxi opening follows ALDI's first distribution hub with GLP at GLP Shanghai Neo Northwest Park, which launched last year. The two projects together reflect what GLP characterizes as a deepening partnership tied to China's rising domestic consumption and the need for modern logistics real estate to support retail expansion in East China.

"We are proud to deliver ALDI's second distribution center within our network. This milestone reflects our commitment to supporting high-quality, efficient retail expansion for our customers in China," said Angela Zhao, CEO of GLP China. "As domestic consumption continues to rise, we will continue leveraging our operational excellence and value-added capabilities to help our customers scale with confidence. We are grateful for ALDI's continued trust and look forward to deepening our partnership."

Strategic Location in the Yangtze River Delta

The facility's airport-adjacent positioning within the Yangtze River Delta places it within one of China's active logistics corridors. Its location is intended to enhance delivery efficiency to ALDI stores in Wuxi, Shanghai, Suzhou and nearby markets, according to GLP.

GLP China Portfolio and Scale

GLP China's logistics and industrial portfolio totals 50 million square meters under management as of December 31, 2025, including approximately 40 million square meters in operation across 70 cities. The platform serves more than 2,500 customers focused on domestic consumption. GLP also ranks among China's top data center operators, with 1.4 gigawatts of secured IT capacity and approximately 1 gigawatt of renewable capacity under management.

GLP's parent entity, through its asset management arm GLP Capital Partners, manages approximately US$80 billion in assets under management as of December 31, 2025.

No financial terms for the Wuxi development or lease were disclosed.
