CHICAGO, June 11, 2026Harrison Street has appointed Michael Humphrey as Managing Director and Co-Head of Asia for its Investor Solutions Group, the firm announced, while also disclosing plans to open a new office in Singapore as part of its ongoing expansion across the Asia-Pacific region.

The appointment comes as Harrison Street — a global alternative investment management firm with $109 billion in assets under management spanning real estate, infrastructure, and credit strategies — works to deepen relationships with institutional investors across key APAC markets. The Singapore office will mark the firm's third location in Asia, complementing existing offices in Tokyo and Seoul.

Humphrey and Kim to Co-Lead Asia Investor Engagement

Humphrey will serve alongside Injong Kim, who also holds the title of Co-Head of Asia in the Investor Solutions Group. Under the arrangement, Kim will lead investor engagement efforts in Korea, while Humphrey will focus on other key APAC markets. Humphrey will report to Geoff Regnery, Co-President and Global Co-Head of Investor Solutions Group. Both will work to support capital formation activities and deepen relationships with the firm's institutional investor base throughout the region.

"Michael's extensive experience, deep relationships and understanding of the Asian institutional landscape make him an outstanding addition to our team," Regnery said in a statement. "Under his and Injong's leadership, our Investor Solutions Group is well positioned to serve our substantial and growing institutional investor client base across the region. As we continue to expand our presence in Asia, including through the opening of our Singapore office, maintaining on-the-ground expertise remains essential to delivering the highest level of service to our clients."

Humphrey joins Harrison Street Asset Management from StepStone Real Estate, where he served as Managing Director and Head of Asia. In that role, he led initiatives spanning fundraising, research, fund investments, secondaries, and co-investments across the region. Prior to StepStone Group, he held leadership positions at Courtland Partners and has spent more than two decades working with institutional investors globally.

"Harrison Street Asset Management has built a strong reputation among institutional investors globally through the firm's differentiated set of real asset investment strategies, leadership across alternative property sectors, and disciplined approach to investing," Humphrey said. "I look forward to partnering with Injong and the broader Investor Solutions team to further strengthen the firm's relationships across Asia and support its continued growth in the region."

Singapore Office Marks Third Asia Location for the Firm

The planned Singapore office, which Harrison Street Asset Management said it intends to open under Humphrey's leadership, reflects the firm's stated commitment to maintaining a local presence in key investor markets throughout Asia. The expansion follows a period of broader organizational change at the firm, which has been integrating its global platform and investing in its leadership structure.

Concurrent with Humphrey's appointment, James Choi — formerly Head of Asia in the Investor Solutions Group — has been elevated to take on broader responsibilities across the firm. Harrison Street characterized the move as reflecting its continued investment in its global leadership team following the global platform integration.

The firm said it currently serves more than 1,100 institutional investors and more than 300 Registered Investment Advisors, with over 600 employees across offices in North America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East. It is headquartered in Chicago, Toronto, and London.
