Leonardo Hotels Takes Over Three Former Revo Hotels, Adding 735 Rooms in Munich, Hanover and Braunschweig

Leonardo Hotels is expanding its German portfolio by 735 rooms following the takeover of three former Revo hotels in Munich, Hanover and Braunschweig, the company announced on October 2, 2026. The hotels in Munich and Hanover add to the company's existing presence in those cities, while the Braunschweig property marks Leonardo Hotels' first location there. The takeover took effect October 1, 2026.
Leonardo Hotels Adds Three Hotels Across Germany
The three properties contribute 341 rooms in Munich, 220 in Hanover and 174 in Braunschweig. Each will operate under a Leonardo Hotels name: the Leonardo Royal Munich Bavaria Towers, the Leonardo Hannover City Center and the Leonardo Braunschweig City Center.
Jan Heringa, Vice President of Development and Project Management at Leonardo Hotels Central Europe, said: "These three hotels encompass different profiles and contrasting business environments – a large-scale conference and events venue in Munich, an inner-city location in Hanover and an entirely new venture in Braunschweig. This diversity is a good match for our approach of developing a network which extends across various locations and provides a range of hotel services. We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to our partners, Real I.S., Deka Immobilien and Swiss Life, for their cooperation and for the trust they have shown."
The announcement describes an operator takeover. Real I.S., Deka Immobilien and Swiss Life were named as partners in the transition. Hendrik Kob, Director of Asset Management at Real I.S., which holds the Hanover property in its portfolio, said: "With Leonardo Hotels, we have secured not only an experienced operator with a strong credit rating, but also ensured a virtually seamless transition thanks to the excellent cooperation."
Munich: Leonardo Royal Munich Bavaria Towers
The former HYPERION Hotel at Truderinger Straße 13 in Munich will operate as the Leonardo Royal Munich Bavaria Towers. It becomes the twelfth hotel in the Bavarian capital run by the Leonardo Group and adds 341 rooms and studios to the company's capacity in the city. The hotel opened in 2018.
Six meeting rooms covering about 700 square meters of conference and events space can accommodate up to 290 people. Other facilities include a restaurant with front cooking, a bar and lounge, a gym, more than 130 parking spaces and electric vehicle charging stations.
The hotel sits in the Bogenhausen Tor complex near Prinzregentenplatz. Munich's city center is roughly four kilometers away and reachable by tram in about 15 minutes, and the Munich Trade Centre is under 10 minutes away by car.
Hanover: Leonardo Hannover City Center
In Hanover, the former Intercity Hotel Hannover at Andreas-Hermes-Platz 1 becomes the Leonardo Hannover City Center, raising Leonardo Hotels' count in the Lower Saxony capital to four. The 14-storey property sits directly east of the main railway station.
The hotel has 220 rooms, a restaurant, an outdoor terrace and a bar. Five meeting rooms, three of which can be combined, are available for conference guests.
Braunschweig: A New Market for Leonardo Hotels
The Leonardo Braunschweig City Center is the company's first hotel in the city. Located at Willy-Brandt-Platz 3, next to the main railway station, the former Intercity Hotel opened in 2016. It has 174 air-conditioned guest rooms, each with a flat-screen TV, desk and safe.
Four air-conditioned meeting rooms are equipped with conference technology, and the hotel includes a restaurant and bar. The property offers access to the city center and the wider region, with sights such as Castle Square, the Cathedral of Saint Blaise, Brunswick Palace and the St. Magnus Quarter within easy reach.
Portfolio Strategy and Market Context
The three hotels combine a large conference and events property in Munich with central-station locations in Hanover and Braunschweig. The deal reflects a broader approach in the hotel sector in which operators grow room inventory and geographic coverage through management or lease transitions without acquiring the underlying real estate, limiting the capital tied up in property ownership. The announcement does not describe a property sale.
With Munich now at twelve Leonardo hotels and Hanover at four, the company is concentrating further in established German destinations while using Braunschweig to extend its network in Lower Saxony.
