Opus Launches 170-Acre Pittsboro Commerce Center Industrial Development, Anchored by Faith Technologies' 500,000-SF Manufacturing Facility

Real estate developer Opus has launched Pittsboro Commerce Center, a 170-acre industrial real estate development in Pittsboro, Ind., with Faith Technologies Incorporated (FTI) breaking ground on a 500,000-square-foot manufacturing facility as the project's anchor and first building, the company announced April 9, 2026.
The development is located near the Interstate 74/N County Road 275 E interchange in Hendricks County. Opus sold 47 acres of the 170-acre site to FTI and is currently completing site infrastructure — including grading, access roads and utilities — in preparation for the facility's construction. FTI is serving as general contractor for its own building.
FTI's Expansion Supports Clean Energy Manufacturing Growth
The new Pittsboro facility will support FTI's Excellerate® brand, which specializes in modular electrical assemblies and energy solutions. FTI delivers engineering, construction, manufacturing and clean energy services and employs more than 5,000 team members nationally.
The location is expected to create more than 200 skilled manufacturing and electrical jobs. Initial openings will focus on foremen, superintendents and manufacturing leads, with additional positions — including entry-level roles, paid apprenticeships and support functions — to be added over time.
"We're excited to begin this new chapter for our team as a part of the Pittsboro community," said Patrick McGettigan, executive vice president of FTI. "As we grow, we continue to maintain our uncompromising focus on safety and our Culture of Care, which is our commitment to supporting our team members' total well-being and creating a workplace where people feel valued, respected and accepted. We look forward to this new partnership and making a positive impact in Pittsboro."
Opus Advances Phased Industrial Real Estate Development Strategy
Pittsboro Commerce Center marks a new industrial real estate development in Opus' portfolio. The Minneapolis-headquartered firm operates as a vertically integrated developer through its subsidiaries — Opus Development Company, Opus Design Build and Opus AE Group — offering development, design-build and architectural services across industrial, multifamily, office, retail and institutional property types.
Opus plans to build out the remainder of Pittsboro Commerce Center in phases following FTI's facility, which represents the first building within the development.
"With a skilled workforce, robust transportation infrastructure and proximity to downtown Indianapolis, Pittsboro is well positioned for industrial growth," said Alex Vulic, vice president of real estate development with Opus. "We're excited to advance Pittsboro Commerce Center and welcome FTI as the first user in the development. Their growth will bring high-quality jobs and help drive future investment in the region."
State and County Incentives Support the Project
The State of Indiana and Hendricks County offered support for the project through incentive-based tax credits via the Indiana Economic Development Corporation and a property tax abatement through Hendricks County, both tied to FTI's projected economic impact and job creation in the region.
Indiana Governor Mike Braun highlighted the project's significance for the state's advanced manufacturing sector. "FTI's investment in Pittsboro is a testament to Indiana's robust capability in advanced manufacturing and our commitment to lead advancements in the industry for years to come," Braun said. "The company's new operations will have a significant impact on this growing community and its economy, creating hundreds of new jobs and providing unique talent development opportunities to further skill up our workforce and prepare Hoosiers for high-pay, in-demand careers."
Jarod Baker, president of the Pittsboro Town Council, also welcomed the development. "We're proud to welcome FTI to Pittsboro," Baker said. "Their commitment to innovative manufacturing and workforce development makes them a strong partner as we continue to grow our local economy and create opportunities for residents."
FTI, founded in 1972, provides end-to-end electrical planning, design and installation services across its brands, including Faith Technologies®, EnTech Solutions™ and Excellerate®. The company's Pittsboro expansion represents a user-driven acquisition of land within a planned industrial park, a structure that allows Opus to retain the balance of the 170-acre site for future phased development.
