Transwestern Invests in FrontierGen to Advance South Texas Data Center Development
HOUSTON — Transwestern has made a strategic equity investment in FrontierGen, a Houston-based developer of infrastructure-ready campuses in South Texas, the firms announced Dec. 16. The partnership is intended to accelerate the planning and build-out of data center and advanced manufacturing campuses across the region.
The initiative combines FrontierGen’s experience in infrastructure development and customized power delivery systems with Transwestern’s commercial real estate capabilities and network. The companies plan to prioritize pad-ready, scalable campuses with access to power, natural gas, water, fiber, transportation, and workforce resources—tailored for hyperscale data centers, electric manufacturing, and other high-throughput industries.
Data Center and Industrial Development
The investment aligns with Transwestern’s strategy to develop, own, and operate data centers across the United States. FrontierGen’s “Infrastructure Nexus” model focuses on large, shovel-ready industrial tracts in South Texas where high-capacity electricity, firm natural-gas trunklines, abundant water rights, and Tier-1 fiber converge. These sites are designed to support hyperscale AI data centers and other resource-intensive industries.
“Transwestern brings decades of experience across every facet of real estate investment and development, including research and analytics, site selection, capital markets, financing, project management, and operations,” said Jason Jennaro, CEO of FrontierGen. He added that the partnership will help deliver institutional-quality campuses at scale with speed and efficiency.
Texas Market Context
Texas, with its robust energy network and pro-business climate, is emerging as one of the nation’s most compelling regions for advanced manufacturing and other power-intensive industries, according to the companies. The collaboration aims to leverage the state’s energy and infrastructure advantages to meet growing demand for large-scale, power-ready sites.
“FrontierGen is a disciplined, visionary organization that has established itself as an innovator under Jason’s leadership,” said John Duncan, managing partner of Transwestern’s Corporate Strategy Group. “By combining FrontierGen’s infrastructure delivery system and strategically positioned pipeline of projects with Transwestern’s integrated team of experts, we can offer complex power solutions to occupiers and investors seeking high-quality hyperscale data center facilities on accelerated timelines.”
