1 Asset Management has marked the cornerstone-laying ceremony for a new student and young professionals hotel project in the Wrzeszcz district of Gdańsk, Poland, the firm announced May 25, 2026. The development will deliver 375 rooms and 528 beds across a seven-storey, 11,400-square-meter building operating under the SHED Living brand of modern student accommodation.

The project is being developed by Gdańsk-based real estate company Upside Property, with ATLAS WARD Polska serving as general contractor. ATLAS WARD Polska brings more than 26 years of experience in the Polish construction market to the project. Completion is scheduled for summer 2027.

Location in Gdańsk's Wrzeszcz District

The development is situated adjacent to Galeria Bałtycka shopping center and the Gdańsk Wrzeszcz railway station, offering residents access to public transport and bicycle infrastructure, according to the firm.

Beyond student accommodation, the project will include shared spaces, commercial premises, and upgrades to surrounding public infrastructure, including pedestrian walkways, bicycle lanes, and public spaces. The development places strong emphasis on sustainability and accessibility for people with disabilities, according to the firm.

Expanding the CEE Student Housing Fund's Poland Portfolio

The Gdańsk Wrzeszcz project will further strengthen the Poland portfolio of the CEE Student Housing Fund, managed by 1 Asset Management. Upon completion, the total number of beds in the fund's Poland portfolio will reach 2,340, the firm said.

The announcement follows a separate 528-bed co-living project in Gdańsk that 1 Asset Management announced in March 2026, also under the SHED Living brand. The firm has also previously announced a 650-room student house project in Warsaw.

The Gdańsk Wrzeszcz scheme is co-funded by the European Union under the InvestEU Fund.
