LONDON — Global real estate investment manager Cain has appointed Ina Plunien to spearhead its European hospitality real estate investment activity, the firm announced April 10, 2026, as it scales its presence across EMEA's luxury and experiential sectors.

New Hire Brings Decade of Hospitality Real Estate Acquisition Experience

Plunien joins Cain from Cedar Capital Partners, where she specialized in luxury and lifestyle hospitality investments across Europe. A graduate of Hotelschool The Hague, she brings approximately 10 years of experience spanning acquisitions, asset management and advisory roles, having worked on hotel assets with a combined value exceeding $3 billion. She was also named recipient of the Young Leader Award 2026 at IHIF EMEA.

Arvi Luoma, chief investment officer at Cain, said: "Having established a strong position in North America and built global recognition through our brand investments, we see a clear opportunity taking shape across luxury and experiential hospitality in EMEA. Ina's deep experience will be a valuable addition as we continue to strengthen our offering as a specialist investment manager in the region. We are delighted to welcome her to the team."

Plunien said: "Cain sets itself apart through its highly disciplined approach to hospitality investment, with a clear focus on long-term value creation, leading brands and a differentiated emphasis on customer experience. The opportunity in luxury hospitality across EMEA is exciting, and I look forward to carrying the team's success into new markets as we grow our presence across the region."

Part of a Broader Build-Out of Hospitality Real Estate Capabilities

The appointment is part of a broader expansion of specialist capabilities within Cain across its living and hospitality, customer experience, and brand-led real estate verticals. Over the past year, the firm appointed Neil Jacobs, former chief executive of Six Senses, as a consultant, and Ana Brant, previously executive vice president of Wynn Resorts, as Global Head of Customer Experience.

Cain currently manages a portfolio valued at more than $10 billion across its Landmark Developments and Living & Hospitality investment verticals, spanning major gateway cities and resort destinations. The firm holds significant investments in both Aman Resorts and Delano Hotels, supporting the continued international expansion of both brands. In Europe, Cain owns and manages Six Senses Courchevel 1850 and has partnered with hospitality brands including Soho House and Rosewood Realty Group.

North American Mixed-Use Development Anchors Firm's Real Estate Strategy

In North America, Cain is delivering One Beverly Hills, a 17.5-acre mixed-use development anchored by the Aman Beverly Hills Hotel and Residences and the historic Beverly Hilton. The firm is also reopening the Delano Miami Beach in spring 2026 and recently acquired The Dominick Hotel in New York City, which is slated for repositioning as a Delano flagship location.

EMEA Hospitality Real Estate Expansion in Focus

The appointment signals Cain's continued emphasis on experiential and luxury hospitality real estate as a core investment theme. The firm's EMEA strategy builds on existing European assets and partnerships while targeting new markets through Plunien's regional expertise and network developed at Cedar Capital Partners.
