WASHINGTON, D.C. — July 14, 2026 — Colliers has brokered a 14,354-square-foot office lease for Working America at 1725 Eye Street NW in Washington, D.C., the firm announced. The deal adds a nationally prominent labor advocacy organization to the building's tenant roster as owner Calvin Cafritz Enterprises moves forward with a comprehensive capital improvement program at the property. Lincoln Property Company represented the tenant in the transaction.

Deal Details and Representation

The Colliers leasing team representing landlord Cafritz consisted of Executive Vice President Mark Sullivan, Senior Vice President Matt Venos, and Client Services Coordinator Cassidy May. Lincoln Property Company represented Working America on the tenant side.

Working America is set to take occupancy immediately after the current tenant vacates the space this fall, according to the announcement.

Founded in 2003, Working America serves as the community affiliate of the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, commonly known as the AFL-CIO. The organization describes itself as the nation's largest group representing working people who are not members of a union, operating through grassroots advocacy efforts aimed at amplifying the priorities of working families at every level of government — from local school boards and city councils to state legislatures, Congress, and the White House.

Cafritz Capital Improvement Program at 1725 Eye Street NW

Calvin Cafritz Enterprises is undertaking a broad renovation of 1725 Eye Street NW concurrent with the new lease. Planned upgrades include a fully modernized lobby, a conference center, a fitness facility, and a redesigned rooftop terrace, according to the Colliers announcement.

Mark Sullivan, who led the Colliers landlord team, has represented approximately eight million square feet of office projects and completed more than six million square feet of leasing transactions over his career in the Washington, D.C. market. He began his career in 1994 and prior to joining Colliers served as an Executive Managing Director at Cushman & Wakefield's Washington, D.C. office. Matt Venos, also on the landlord team, brings a legal background to lease negotiation and completed more than six million square feet of transactions during his prior 12 years at Cushman & Wakefield's landlord agency team.
