LaSalle Investment Management Names Matthew Sgrizzi Fund Manager of European Real Estate Fund

LaSalle Investment Management announced a strategic leadership transition with Matthew Sgrizzi appointed as Fund Manager of LaSalle Encore+, effective April 1, 2026. The global real estate investment manager disclosed the change on February 4, 2026, from its London office.

Sgrizzi will transition from his current role as CIO and Portfolio Manager of LaSalle Securities, creating advancement opportunities within the Securities leadership team. He will relocate from Baltimore to LaSalle Investment Management's Paris office in August 2026.

Planned Succession in Leadership

David Ironside informed LaSalle Encore+ investors in 2025 that he was planning his succession and would transition from Fund Manager to Chairman of LaSalle Encore+ in 2026 upon selecting a suitable candidate. Sgrizzi will work closely with Ironside through an extensive transition process extending into 2027 to ensure comprehensive knowledge transfer and continuity for LaSalle Encore+ clients.

During Sgrizzi's tenure as CIO and Portfolio Manager of LaSalle Securities, the business consistently delivered strong investment performance, according to the firm. His 23-year career at LaSalle Investment Management demonstrates leadership across multiple market cycles. Sgrizzi will report to Philip La Pierre, Head of Europe at LaSalle Investment Management.

Leadership Promotions

The leadership transition creates promotion opportunities within LaSalle Securities. Paul Meierdierck will be promoted to CIO and Portfolio Manager of LaSalle Securities, building on his 18-year tenure and investment track record at the firm. Chris Battista will assume the role of Head of Product & Strategy for LaSalle Securities, formalizing his leadership role integrating the firm's investment process, research insights and product offerings to meet client objectives after 15 years with the business. Both Meierdierck and Battista will report to Lisa Kaufman, Head of LaSalle Global Solutions.
