Newmark Opens Milan Office, Names Luca de Ambrosis Executive Managing Director in European Expansion

Newmark, Inc. (Nasdaq: NMRK) announced Feb. 20 the opening of a flagship office in Milan, Italy, appointing Luca de Ambrosis Ortigara as Executive Managing Director to lead the firm's Italian operations. The expansion marks a formal step in Newmark's broader strategy to build an integrated European advisory platform, extending the firm's footprint into one of the continent's commercial real estate markets.

Silvio Sancilio has also joined the Milan office as Managing Director for Italy. Together, de Ambrosis and Sancilio bring experience advising domestic and international investors across Italy's major markets, according to the firm.

Newmark's Expansion Into European Markets

"As Italy is anchored by global capital flows, strong domestic institutions and growing demand from multinational occupiers, the country remains one of Europe's most important real estate, industrial and logistics markets," said Barry Gosin, Chief Executive Officer. The Milan office builds on Newmark's existing transaction and advisory activity across Italy, including in Rome and Naples.

Focus on Capital Markets, Agency Leasing, and Logistics

Newmark's Italian business will initially concentrate on three segments: Capital Markets, Agency Leasing, and Logistics — areas the firm describes as among the fastest-growing in Italy's commercial real estate landscape.

Leadership Profile: Luca de Ambrosis Ortigara

De Ambrosis brings a career spanning capital markets, leasing, and strategic advisory across Italy. Prior to joining Newmark, he served as a Partner at Cushman & Wakefield and held senior leadership roles at Pirelli Real Estate, where he developed expertise in corporate structuring, capital allocation, and growth strategy. He later served as Partner and Managing Director at McArthurGlen.
