SEOUL, South Korea — Newmark Group, Inc. announced the opening of its flagship Korea office in Seoul, marking an expansion of the firm’s Asia-Pacific operations. The office, located in the IFC Complex in Yeouido, will be led by John Pritchard, who joins as Managing Director and Country Head.

Newmark Expands in Asia-Pacific

The Seoul launch, announced on December 8, 2025, establishes Newmark’s Korean flagship and extends its presence in the region. The new office will focus on multiple real estate sectors and asset classes, advising corporations, investors, and occupiers across key areas of South Korea’s economy.

Chief Executive Officer Barry Gosin said the expansion reflects Newmark’s continued evolution as a global firm. “Korea is one of Asia’s most advanced and rapidly growing economies, defined by innovation and global influence,” Gosin said in the announcement. “Establishing a presence here allows us to support corporations expanding internationally and deliver world-class advisory services to clients entering the market.”

Leadership and Team Appointments

Pritchard brings nearly two decades of experience advising global corporations on major occupier transactions in Korea. He will lead a multidisciplinary team drawn from multinational commercial real estate firms. The team includes Karis Kim as Head of Retail Tenant Representation, Judy Jang as Head of Research, and Miji Kyung as Associate Director. Each will focus on defined real estate sectors within the Korean market.

According to Newmark, the team’s expertise spans office leasing, retail advisory, and corporate real estate strategy. The firm stated that the group will operate across all asset classes and service lines, aligning with Newmark’s integrated global platform.

Strategic Context

Yeouido’s IFC Complex, where Newmark’s new office is based, is a key financial and business district in Seoul. The company said its entry into Korea reinforces its long-term commitment to building a connected, future-focused platform to meet the evolving needs of global clients.
