PRODAC Industrial Real Estate Industrial Real Estate and BGO marked a construction milestone with a topping-out ceremony for the new Barnet Europe headquarters in Eschweiler, Germany, roughly five months after the project's groundbreaking. The industrial real estate development will deliver approximately 23,000 square meters of combined office, production, and warehouse space on a 41,400-square-meter site at Zeppelinstraße/Dürwißer Straße, with handover targeted for the second quarter of 2026.

Project Overview and Industrial Real Estate Development Details

The development is being built to DGNB Platinum standards, the highest certification level awarded by the German Sustainable Building Council. Goldbeck International is serving as general contractor, with Modevconsult acting as project manager. BGO holds the role of investor and owner on the project, while PRODAC Industrial Real Estate is leading development of the bespoke facility.

The new building will serve as the sole tenancy of Barnet Europe, a globally active production, recycling, and trading company. According to Barnet Europe Managing Director Bernd Lenzen, the consolidation represents a significant operational shift for the firm.

"With our new company headquarters, we are bringing all our operations together under one roof for the first time," Lenzen said. "Previously spread across three sites in Aachen, B-Raeren, and Eschweiler, everything will now be consolidated in one central location. This creates shorter distances, promotes collaboration, and strengthens our efficiency — an important step towards the future and the sustainable development of our company."

Operations Consolidated Under One Roof

The project consolidates warehouse space, office, and production facilities that Barnet Europe previously operated across three separate locations. Approximately 100 guests attended the topping-out ceremony, including Barnet Europe employees, representatives from BGO, Goldbeck International, and Modevconsult, as well as city officials from Eschweiler.

Lars Zimmermann, Managing Director of PRODAC Industrial Real Estate, acknowledged the collaborative effort behind the milestone. "We are proud to realize this forward-looking project for our client Barnet Europe," Zimmermann said. "Our sincere thanks go to everyone involved — especially the Barnet project team, Modevconsult, and Goldbeck — for their commitment and teamwork in reaching this remarkable milestone."

Local Government Highlights Structural Transformation

Eschweiler Mayor Nadine Leonhardt attended the ceremony and commented on the project's broader significance for the city. "This topping-out ceremony marks another important milestone — not only for Barnet Europe but also for the structural transformation of our city," Leonhardt said. "The new building is a prime example of sustainable construction, modern work environments, and successful collaboration between business and local government. I am delighted that the Barnet Group is investing here in Eschweiler, creating a wide range of jobs and bringing innovative future opportunities to our region."

René Schulz, Head of Economic Development for the City of Eschweiler, and designated Mayor Patrick Nowicki were also among the attendees, along with representatives of neighboring companies and the broader city administration.

Outlook for the Eschweiler Project

With the topping-out reached, the project moves toward its scheduled handover in the second quarter of 2026. The facility will bring Barnet Europe's European operations under a single, purpose-built building. PRODAC Industrial Real Estate has published additional details about the project on its website.
