LIVERPOOL, UK — March 6, 2026Starlight Investments has officially opened Lighthaus, a 31-storey build-to-rent (BTR) tower delivering 278 homes at Princes Dock within the Liverpool Waters waterfront regeneration district. The ribbon-cutting ceremony, attended by Steve Rotheram, Mayor of the Liverpool City Region, along with local leaders and project partners, marks the building's transition from construction completion to a fully operational residential community.

The opening adds to the momentum of the broader Liverpool Waters masterplan — a £5 billion, multi-decade regeneration initiative led by Peel Waters that is transforming more than 60 hectares of historic docklands into a mixed-use waterfront district.

Homes and Amenities

Lighthaus offers studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites, each designed around a contemporary urban living experience. The development's stated "illuminated living" ethos emphasizes modern design paired with waterfront surroundings.

Residents have access to a range of amenities including a sky bar and lounge, private dining areas, a fitness centre, co-working spaces, a rooftop terrace, a resident lounge, a coffee bar, and 24-hour concierge service. Construction of Lighthaus was completed in late 2025, with residents beginning to move in ahead of the formal grand opening.

Liverpool Waters and the Regional Housing Context

Lighthaus sits within Princes Dock, one of the key precincts of the Liverpool Waters masterplan. The Liverpool City Region has set a broader pipeline target of more than 64,000 new homes to support future population growth and community wellbeing, according to regional authorities.

The opening underscores Liverpool's profile as one of the North of England's growth cities and reinforces the role of institutional BTR operators in supporting workforce housing and urban regeneration goals, according to Starlight Investments.

Starlight Investments' UK Activity

The Lighthaus opening reflects Starlight Investments' activity in the UK BTR market. No financial terms, including sale price, cap rate, or loan details, were disclosed in connection with the Lighthaus opening.

Public-Private Collaboration

The formal ceremony highlighted the public-private collaboration underpinning large-scale regeneration efforts in the Liverpool City Region. Mayor Steve Rotheram's attendance signals continued municipal support for institutional investment in housing delivery.

Liverpool Waters, led by Peel Waters, remains one of the UK's most ambitious regeneration programmes. The activation of Lighthaus — with residents moving in and amenity spaces now operational — adds a functioning residential community to a district that has been under long-term transformation.
