United Group of Companies has broken ground on Terracotta Terrace, a 152-unit luxury, market-rate, 55+ active adult community situated at 1398 S.R. 436 in Casselberry, Florida, within the broader Winter Park area of the Orlando metropolitan statistical area. City leaders and business officials joined the developer at a groundbreaking ceremony on April 23, 2026.
Project Details: Mediterranean Design and Resort-Style Amenities
The five-story building will feature Mediterranean-inspired architecture and offer 152 units targeting residents aged 55 and over. The property will include an interior landscaped courtyard with amenities such as a pool, lounges, cabanas, fire pits, an outdoor kitchen and bar, bocce court, and shuffleboard. Additional amenities include a fitness center, theater, dog park, and outdoor gathering spaces, according to the developer.
United Group of Companies Expands Florida 55+ Portfolio
The Terracotta Terrace groundbreaking represents United Group of Companies' sixth 55+ active adult community in Florida — which is in addition to the more than 10,000 market-rate multifamily units the firm has developed and/or acquired in Florida.
Community Response
Local officials in Casselberry expressed support for the project. "City leaders and business officials broke ground Wednesday on a new 55-plus community they say will bring more housing options to Casselberry," WKMG reported following the ceremony. The groundbreaking was held at the project site on North State Road in Casselberry.
Construction is now underway on Terracotta Terrace, with the completed development expected to deliver 152 units of market-rate active adult housing to the Casselberry market upon completion.
