Castello SGR to Open Palazzo Sanzio as Radisson Collection Hotel in Rome This Summer

Castello SGR has announced the planned summer 2026 opening of Palazzo Sanzio, a renovated historic building in Rome that will operate under the Radisson Collection brand as a five-star luxury hotel. The property, situated at Lungotevere Raffaello Sanzio 15 along the Tiber River, is held by the firm's Fondo IHF, whose sole quotaholder is iAM Capital's ICE II fund.
Hospitality Real Estate Conversion at the Heart of Rome
The early-20th-century palazzo underwent a comprehensive repositioning that converted the building into a high-end hotel property. The architectural and interior design work was carried out by studio De.Tales, which the firm said combined historical elements of the original structure with contemporary design.
The completed hotel will offer 70 rooms and suites, food and beverage facilities, a wellness center, and a panoramic terrace overlooking the Rome skyline. Management of the property will be handled by Radisson Collection, the premium brand within Radisson Hotel Group's global portfolio.
The property's location along the Tiber River, a short distance from Rome's principal landmarks, positions it within one of the city's central hospitality corridors.
Castello SGR Expands Rome Luxury Hospitality Portfolio
The Palazzo Sanzio opening represents the latest in a series of luxury hospitality real estate investments Castello SGR has pursued in Rome. According to Michelangelo Ripamonti, Head of Hospitality Investments at Castello SGR, the firm has previously been involved in the openings of the InterContinental Rome Ambasciatori Palace and the Leonardo Boutique Hotel Rome Monti, as well as strategic financing for the Nobu Hotel Roma and the Orient Express Hotel La Minerva.
Ripamonti also noted that Castello SGR recently acquired an additional property located between Via Veneto and Piazza Barberini, signaling continued deployment of capital into the Roman luxury hospitality market.
"Il completamento di Palazzo Sanzio, futuro Radisson Collection Hotel, consolida la leadership di Castello SGR nel settore luxury hospitality a Roma," Ripamonti said. "Questi investimenti confermano il nostro impegno per valorizzare l'asset class dell'hospitality e per elevare l'heritage hospitality italiana ai più alti standard internazionali di eccellenza, assicurandoci così che Roma rimanga una destinazione primaria per il turismo di lusso globale."
