Ennismore Opens Hyde Mexico City Reforma, Marking Hyde Hotels' Latin American Debut

Ennismore has opened Hyde Mexico City Reforma, a 106-room lifestyle hotel on Avenida Paseo de la Reforma 355 in the Cuauhtémoc borough of Mexico City, the company announced Sept. 2, 2026. The opening marks the Hyde Hotels brand's debut in Latin America and adds a flagship address for Ennismore in one of Mexico City's most visible hospitality corridors.
Adaptive Reuse on Reforma
Rather than ground-up construction, the project repurposes two towers built during the era of Mexican modernism, preserving the buildings' original facades and infrastructure. The approach positions Hyde Mexico City Reforma as a brand-led adaptive-reuse delivery in a submarket where prime urban hotel supply remains limited relative to demand.
Hyde shares its lobby, dining destinations and select common spaces with the forthcoming SO/ Mexico City Reforma, which will occupy a connected portion of the same complex. Despite the shared infrastructure, Ennismore said the two hotels maintain distinct identities: Hyde is oriented around music, discovery and social connection, while SO/ is positioned around art and fashion.
The property sits along Paseo de la Reforma near Zona Rosa — a neighborhood known for its LGBTQ+ heritage — and adjacent to the Korean cultural district locally called Pequeño Seúl. Galleries, boutiques, restaurants and antique shops surround the hotel, which Ennismore describes as placing guests at the intersection of one of the capital's most cosmopolitan areas.
Design and Art Program
The hotel's interior centers on a dramatic atrium clad in dark green marble. At its center stands Vulcano, a sculpture by Mexican architect Javier Senosiain. Assembled from thousands of multicolored hand-placed ceramic fragments and shaped like an outstretched tongue, the piece is described by the company as a symbol of communication and storytelling. Sculptural furniture throughout the property echoes the geometry of Mexico City's urban grid, softened by floral arrangements and natural materials.
Rooms, Amenities and Food and Beverage
Across its 106 guestrooms, studios and suites, the hotel offers music-inspired room categories ranging from General Admission Queens and All Access Kings to a Rockstar King Suite with living spaces and city views. A 24-hour TechnoGym fitness suite and flexible event spaces round out the amenity program.
On the food-and-beverage side, Enzu Restaurant & Bar is set to open in September, specializing in contemporary Japanese dining. The concept will feature seafood from Ensenada, Japanese products and Mexican-grown produce across shareable dishes, sushi and preparations over a binchotan charcoal robata grill. A 14-seat omakase counter will offer a reservation-only tasting experience, while a grand bar will serve sake, mezcal, tequila and whisky alongside cocktails.
A second outlet, Sun & Moon, is located on the fourth floor and is positioned as a neighborhood living room serving coffee, pastries and light bites through the day before transitioning to an evening cocktail lounge. A flexible terrace bridging Hyde and SO/ is intended to host dinner series, guest bartender collaborations and cultural programming.
Market Context and Ennismore's Americas Expansion
Mexico City's hotel market has continued to absorb strong tourism and business demand, with occupancy running at approximately 67.3% in the most recent comparable period, average daily rates near $241.84 and RevPAR near $162.74. The city's pipeline stood at roughly 2,737 rooms across 25 projects at mid-2026, a figure that underscores the competitive importance of brand positioning, location and experiential differentiation for new openings.
Mexico's broader hotel market is estimated at approximately $61.31 billion in 2026, up from $57.81 billion in 2025, with projections pointing toward $82.22 billion by 2031. Global hospitality forecasts project 2026 RevPAR growth of approximately 1.2%, driven primarily by ADR gains of around 0.8%, indicating that operators continue to rely more on pricing power than occupancy expansion to grow revenue.
Within Accor, which holds a stake in Ennismore, the lifestyle platform delivered 18.0% net unit growth and €205 million in recurring EBITDA on a contributive basis in 2025. Accor's first-half 2026 results showed group revenue of €2,760 million and recurring EBITDA of €563 million, with hotel network RevPAR up 2.2% versus the same period in 2025. Accor has also said it has begun preparatory work to evaluate a possible listing of Ennismore.
Ennismore described the Hyde Mexico City Reforma opening as another milestone in its continued expansion across the Americas and a strengthening of its presence in what it called one of the world's most fast-evolving hospitality markets.
