JLL Names Jens Bertram Data Center Director Germany
FRANKFURT — JLL has appointed Jens Bertram as Data Center Director Germany, effective May 15, 2026, the firm announced. The hire is intended to build out JLL's data center advisory platform in Germany, where the company manages site selection, construction projects, and data center operations.
Bertram brings more than 30 years of international experience in telecommunications and data center infrastructure to the role. At British Telecom, he led global expansion projects and oversaw operational infrastructure across the EMEA, Asia-Pacific, and North America regions. Most recently, from 2023 to 2025, he served as Director of Operations and Facility DACH at NorthC Datacenters, where he was also a member of the German executive leadership team.
Role and Strategic Mandate
In his new position, Bertram will be responsible for building out JLL's data center business in Germany, with a mandate that spans the full asset lifecycle — from site selection and project delivery through to ongoing operations. According to the firm, he will develop solutions for investors, developers, and operators, and will coordinate JLL's various business units within the data center segment.
In translation, Williams described data centers as a clear growth market for JLL in Germany, where the firm advises on site searches and construction projects and manages data center operations, adding that Bertram's expertise is an ideal complement to expand the firm's capabilities in what she called a complex business environment.
Background and Additional Activities
Beyond his professional career, Bertram is the founder and director of the humanitarian organization "Hände für Kambodscha" (Hands for Cambodia), through which he has worked for more than 16 years to improve living conditions for disadvantaged people in Cambodia. The organization operates entirely on a donation basis.
JLL reported annual revenue of $26.1 billion in 2025 and operates in more than 80 countries with over 113,000 employees as of December 31, 2025. The firm's investment management activities are conducted through LaSalle Investment Management. JLL's announcement did not disclose financial terms associated with the appointment.
