Thomas Park Holdings Advances High-End Conference Center Expansion in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Thomas Park Holdings is reporting active construction progress on a high-end conference center expansion in Washington, D.C., with multiple interior trades advancing simultaneously on the project.
According to the firm, crews are completing glass installation along the offices and conference rooms while ceiling work moves toward close-in. Later in the same week as the update, an operable partition track was scheduled for installation around the newly framed ceiling at the structural steel location.
Construction Scope and Interior Work
The project involves interior work that includes glass-lined office and conference room enclosures, ceiling framing, and the integration of an operable partition system. The operable partition track is being installed at a structural steel location within the newly framed ceiling.
The conference center expansion aligns with the work of TPC Contracting, Thomas Park Holdings' construction division. Rebranded in March 2026 from Thomas Park Construction, TPC Contracting focuses on commercial interior construction and renovation across office, retail, and medical environments. Over the prior year, the construction business more than doubled revenue and expanded its project footprint across the Baltimore–Washington corridor, including tenant fit-outs and commercial renovations in Washington, D.C.
Thomas Park Holdings' Integrated Platform
Thomas Park Holdings describes itself as a fully integrated commercial real estate platform that invests in, develops, owns, and operates commercial real estate and service companies across the East Coast. The firm's operating divisions include Thomas Park Investments, which focuses on healthcare and medical office acquisitions; Thomas Park Management, which handles both in-house and third-party property management; a brokerage arm; and TPC Contracting.
The D.C. conference center project is one execution point within a platform that has scaled considerably in 2026. In the first half of the year, Thomas Park Holdings onboarded a 17-building, 837,000-square-foot portfolio in Harford County, Maryland, for third-party property management. The firm's own materials cite approximately 200 properties and 7.5 million square feet under management across the region.
On the investment side, Thomas Park Investments closed on a four-property medical outpatient portfolio in August 2026 totaling approximately 165,637 square feet across Washington, D.C., Northern Virginia, and Maryland's Eastern Shore, at a total purchase price of approximately $70 million — roughly $423 per square foot across the portfolio. One identified asset in that transaction is Children's National at Takoma Theatre, located at 6833 4th Street NW in Washington, D.C. The Luminis Health Easton Pavilion on Maryland's Eastern Shore was identified as another component of the same portfolio.
Value-Add Leasing Activity Supports Platform Growth
Alongside its development and construction activity, Thomas Park Investments has been active on the leasing front. The firm acquired 4000 Old Court Road in Pikesville, Maryland — a 42,311-square-foot medical office building — in May 2026 as a value-add asset at approximately 67% occupancy. By September 2026, Thomas Park Investments had signed an 11,300-square-foot lease with Soar Autism Center at the property, lifting occupancy to approximately 91%.
The firm also acquired two MedStar-anchored properties in Olney, Maryland during the first half of 2026, further expanding its healthcare-focused investment portfolio in the region.
Market Context: D.C. Office Demand Bifurcates Toward Amenitized Space
The conference center expansion comes as the Washington, D.C. office market continues to see demand bifurcate toward highly amenitized, meeting-rich space even as overall vacancy remains elevated. Landlords and owner-operators investing in flexible, high-finish conference infrastructure are positioning their assets to capture tenants prioritizing collaborative environments and premium building amenities.
Thomas Park Holdings is headquartered at 1906 Towne Centre Blvd., Suite 270, in Annapolis, Maryland, with additional offices in Towson, Maryland, and Raleigh, North Carolina.
