Mill Creek Residential Breaks Ground on 290-Unit Modera Woodmont Beach in Des Moines, WA
DES MOINES, Wash. — Mill Creek Residential, a developer, owner-operator and investment manager specializing in rental housing, announced April 6 that it has broken ground on Modera Woodmont Beach, a mixed-use multifamily development located at 26915 Pacific Highway S. in Des Moines, Washington.
The project will deliver 290 rental homes alongside 7,500 square feet of retail space, with first move-ins targeted for summer 2027. Situated approximately 20 miles south of Downtown Seattle and 15 miles northeast of Tacoma, the development is located in the South Sound region.
Project Overview and Location
Modera Woodmont Beach will rise as a midrise community along Pacific Highway, one mile from Woodmont Park and within walking distance of the newly opened Star Lake light rail station on the Link Light Rail system. The station provides residents with connectivity to Seattle's employment centers, while Interstate 5 — located moments east of the site — offers additional regional access.
Nearby recreational amenities include Saltwater State Park and the Des Moines Waterfront. Residents will also have access to multiple bus routes serving the area.

Unit Mix and Amenities
The community will offer one-, two- and three-bedroom homes across a variety of floor plan layouts. Unit interiors will feature air conditioning, wood-style plank flooring, stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops, tile backsplashes, custom soft-close cabinetry, spacious closets, in-home washers and dryers, key fob access and programmable thermostats. Select homes will include private patios or balconies, chef's islands with storage and pendant lighting, while designer bathrooms will feature quartz countertops and backlit mirrors.
Community amenities will include a resort-style swimming pool, hot tub, outdoor deck, grilling area, outdoor dining, resident clubhouse, coffee bar, dog park, children's playground and a club-quality fitness studio. Residents will also have access to a coworking lounge with private workstations, package storage and gated parking with EV-charging stations.
Sustainability and Certification
The community will be built to, and is pursuing, a National Green Building Standard (NGBS) Bronze certification.
