Cadillac Fairview Sells 50% Stakes in CF Markville, CF Fairview Pointe-Claire to KingSett Capital

Cadillac Fairview (CF) has sold 50% non-managing co-ownership interests in two Canadian shopping centres, CF Markville in Markham, Ontario, and CF Fairview Pointe-Claire in Pointe-Claire, Quebec, to KingSett Capital, the company announced Oct. 30. The buyer is KingSett's Real Estate Growth LP No. 9 fund.
The transaction expands the joint venture between Cadillac Fairview and KingSett Capital to three major shopping centres. The two newly transferred assets are the second and third properties the firms hold jointly.
Cadillac Fairview Retains Managing Role
Cadillac Fairview remains the 50% managing partner and will continue to operate and manage all three properties. KingSett's new positions in CF Markville and CF Fairview Pointe-Claire add to a retail portfolio that already includes a co-ownership interest in CF Masonville Place in London, Ontario.
The structure shifts a portion of ownership to KingSett while leaving operational control with Cadillac Fairview. KingSett's first co-ownership interest in CF Masonville Place dates to 2025, making the latest deal an extension of an existing relationship.
Executives Cite Long-Term Retail Outlook
"We are proud to strengthen our relationship with KingSett Capital, a recognized institutional investor that shares our values and supports our long-term vision of excellent shopping centres," said Sal Iacono, president and chief executive officer of Cadillac Fairview. He added that the milestone demonstrates the strength and performance of CF's management platform and highlights the lasting value and national presence of its portfolio.
Marco Ding, executive vice president of investments at Cadillac Fairview, said the expanded co-ownership partnership with KingSett across the three assets reflects strong market confidence in top-tier retail destinations. "We look forward to combining our complementary expertise to support sustained long-term performance and deliver exceptional value within the joint portfolio," Ding said.
Rob Kumer, chief executive officer of KingSett Capital, said the firm continues to see attractive opportunities in high-quality Canadian shopping centres, particularly those that are well located and serve growing populations. According to Kumer, the expanded partnership reflects KingSett's conviction in the sector's long-term potential and its confidence in Cadillac Fairview as an operator. "We look forward to further strengthening our relationship and creating value together over the long term," he said.
