Wood Partners, Clarion Partners Break Ground on 365-Unit Alta Metro Center in Aurora
DENVER (Dec. 17, 2025) — Wood Partners and Clarion Partners have broken ground on Alta Metro Center, a 365-unit multifamily development in Aurora, Colorado, according to a joint announcement from the firms. The project is slated for delivery in the first quarter of 2028.
Transit-Oriented Multifamily Development
Alta Metro Center is located within the larger Metro Center master-planned development, a walkable district that combines residential, retail, and civic uses. The site is within an Opportunity Zone established under the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which provides tax incentives for investment in under-served areas.
The community will include four four-story buildings offering one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Planned amenities include a clubhouse leasing center, fitness center, pool, lounge, gaming area with a kitchen, library and lounge zone, micro-fitness area, and a dog washing station. Two pocket parks will feature functional art, seating areas, play zones, and outdoor fitness spaces.
Developer Statements
“Alta Metro Center reflects our continued focus on building communities that offer more than just a place to live,” said Walter Armer, Managing Director at Wood Partners. “The community's walkable setting, access to transit and proximity to a mix of uses create a neighborhood feel we know residents value.”
Ian McKay, Senior Vice President at Clarion Partners, said the project aligns with the firm’s investment strategy. “Alta Metro Center aligns perfectly with our strategy of investing in well-planned transit-oriented environments in high-growth markets and in product that provides residents a best-in-class living experience,” McKay said. “As an Opportunity Zone investment, it provides investors with tax advantages while also supporting long-term economic development in a growing part of the Denver metro.”
Other Regional Developments
Earlier in 2025, Wood Partners broke ground on Alta Flatirons, a 251-unit community in Superior, Colorado. The company also has two other communities available for lease in the area, including Alta Piney Creek, a 186-unit community in southeast Aurora.
