Wood Partners, Clarion Partners Begin Construction on 365-Unit Alta Metro Center in Aurora
AURORA, Colo. — Wood Partners and Clarion Partners have broken ground on Alta Metro Center, a 365-unit multifamily development located in Aurora, Colorado, the largest suburb of Denver. The project, announced Dec. 17, 2025, is scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2028, according to the firms.
Transit-Oriented Multifamily Development
The Alta Metro Center project is part of the larger Metro Center master-planned district, which combines residential, retail, and civic uses. The site is located within an Opportunity Zone established by the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017, which provides tax incentives for investment in under-served areas. The community is situated a few blocks from a light rail station, offering residents transit access across the Denver metro area.
Design and Amenities
The four-building, four-story community will include a mix of one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments. Planned amenities include a clubhouse leasing center, fitness center, pool, lounge, gaming area with kitchen, library and lounge zone, micro-fitness area, and a dog washing station. The project will also feature two pocket parks with functional art, seating areas, play zones, and outdoor fitness spaces.
Developer and Investor Perspectives
“Alta Metro Center reflects our continued focus on building communities that offer more than just a place to live,” said Walter Armer, Managing Director at Wood Partners. “The community’s walkable setting, access to transit and proximity to a mix of uses create a neighborhood feel we know residents value.”
Ian McKay, Senior Vice President at Clarion Partners, said the project aligns with the firm’s strategy of investing in transit-oriented environments in high-growth markets. “As an Opportunity Zone investment, it provides investors with tax advantages while also supporting long-term economic development in a growing part of the Denver metro,” McKay said.
Wood Partners’ Regional Development Activity
Earlier in 2025, Wood Partners broke ground on Alta Flatirons, a 251-unit community in Superior, Colorado. The firm also has two other communities available for lease in the area: Alta Piney Creek and Alta Green Mountain.
